The Coconut Tree

The coconut tree is very useful to us. In countries of South East Asia people cannot do without the coconut tree. Coconut tree grows high up like a pillar. There is not a single thing that we could reject from the coconut tree. Every part of it is used for something. The fruit gives us food and drink. Coconut oil is used to produce soap and candles. House wives are keen on using coconut oil because, unlike other oils it is much easier for them to cook curries and other eatables.

The leaves are also used for thatching the roofs of houses. Another important part of the tree is its trunk. People use the trunk for building purposes. Today coconut is one of the major export products of this country as well as of countries like Malaysia, India and Burma.
